Hi, my name is Beth Putnam, and I am raising money for my sister/friend, Ashley Damron. Ashley was recently diagnosed with Stage IV Advanced Melanoma. The cancer has metastasized to different areas of her body, along with detection in her brain, lungs, and bones. I always thought melanoma was "just" skin cancer. I have learned that it is one of the most aggressive cancers and one of the most difficult to treat. Ashley is a fighter and is determined to beat this cancer. Per her own words “I have to live for my kids”. Ashley is a single mother to an 8-year-old boy, Levi, and a 2- year-old little girl named Ava. She has always worked very hard to make sure she and her kids never went without. She has been a dental hygienist at the same practice for over a decade. She has always been that independent woman who never asked for help, instead she just did. However, unfortunately at this time, she is not physically able and needs our help.
Ashley has been out of work since 9/27/22 due to the constant pain, nausea, extreme fatigue, and treatment battling this horrible disease. At this time, there is no set timetable for her to return to work. As a mother, it breaks my heart that on top of the physical hardships, she also has the uncertainty of how she is going to provide for herself and her children. Ashley just recently started targeted chemo therapy and radiation surgery on her brain to reduce the lesion found. After targeted therapy (chemo designed to attack a specific mitigation in the cancer cell), she still has immunotherapy, cell therapies, guided surgeries (if needed), and a plethora of clinical trials as a possibility. While all of this may sound grim, I promise you wouldn’t be able to tell by speaking to her. Ashley remains positive, optimistic, loving and kind. Ashley is a survivor and is looking forward to paying it forward in the future to help another family going through a hardship. Please help me aid Ashley in her fight for her life and to be there for her children's future.
All money raised will go towards helping Ashley keep her house, provide food for her kids, and assist with the outrageous amount of medical costs that are not covered by insurance. If you can only give $1, please give $1. Please share Ashley's story. If 50,000 people see this and give $1, we hit our first goal. Thank you, we appreciate you!
