The passion that Ashley lived her life with is one that we all should certainly never forget. The way that Ashley loved others is a reflection of her faith. She embraced life and with good or bad - trials and tribulations - she pushed to show others that life was full of hope and that we should push and continue to dream always. Ashley was a beacon of love and she longed to show others - the way that this shined through when she was doing mission work was undeniable. Her heart was touched by the way others lived and she was filled with a desire to do better in life so that she could continue to help others. When Ashley went to Haiti - her heart was captured by a little girl hidden behind the crowd of children. Ashley instantly responded to Carla Juste and she loved on her for the 7 days she was in Haiti and prayed for her for all the days to follow. Upon returning from Haiti she made a choice to sponsor Carla and to do whatever she could to help provide a better life for her. She made monthly financial contribution (even when it was tough) to fund a portion of Carla's education and help provide food for her. She wanted to do so much more - and had many dreams of returning to let Carla know how she cared for her and that she was not forgotten. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for those who loved Ashley to contribute so that we can send a financial donation to Carla and her mother so that Ashley's dream of continued support will be fulfilled. Ashley will be missed and life without her energy seems impossible but the ability to carry on her heart to love is a gift and one that we know Ashley would have wanted.
