Ashley and Veronica make a Fringe show

"Slay Me" is a one woman show written and performed by Veronica Rosas and directed by Ashley Karp.

Victoria has a massive crush on her neighbor. He fixes her kitchen sink and men being useful is sexy.

As can be expected, he turns out to be a serial killer. What should Victoria do? Call the cops? Maybe.

But first she's gonna go over there and confront him. She was sure there was a spark between them and yet he murders twelve women and not her? She deserves an explanation.

She's just gotta do her makeup first.

Slay Me: Origins

Her whole life, Veronica never understood the appeal of a one person show. They were self serving and self indulgent.

Spring 2023 - Veronica produces an ensemble show for The San Diego Fringe Festival. Suddenly the appeal of a one person show is incredibly obvious.

Veronica spends the next two years trying to come up with her own solo show.

February 7, 2025 - Veronica finally hits upon an idea she likes while crying in her car. She runs home and writes the opening paragraph. She quickly realizes it's limitations and steps away from it.

March 4, 2025 - Veronica finds the answer to those limitations while crying in the shower.

March 16, 2025 - A first draft is complete. No crying takes place.

March 20, 2025 - Veronica asks Ashley to read the script for feedback and they set up a coffee date to discuss the show.

March 24, 2025 - Ashley accepts the role of director, says too many kind things about the show, and convinces Veronica to throw their hat in the ring for The Hollywood Fringe Festival. Veronica cries in a coffee shop.

March 26, 2025 - Ashley and Veronica do a photoshoot, book a venue, register for Fringe and start promoting. Veronica cries in an elevator.

March 27, 2025 - Ashley and Veronica realize they have no idea where the money is going to come from and set up a Go Fund Me. Veronica hopes it gets funded so she doesn't have to cry in a Denny's.
