Ashleon's Heart: A Journey of Love and Hope

To know Ashleon is to know that he is one of the most charming, kind, loving, and generous persons to walk the earth but he also has a HUGE HEART. Now that we have been in this journey to heart transplant for FOUR YEARS, we joke with him that his heart failed because he gave it all away. Many of his friends and family have stories of a time when he supported them, gave his last, or acted on their behalf when they needed someone. I (his Mom) have met persons across the country who have stories about being homeless, jobless, or needing somewhere to stay and he HELPED without looking for anything in return. Now it is time to help him. The journey-to- transplant is expensive - monetarily but also emotionally.

Ashleon is not the same person as before. He is limited in activities that he can participate in and has been in SIX hospitals in FOUR years!! But with his current transplant teams, we are confident in God that he is with the best care team to ensure a successful heart transplant and road to recovery!

The road to recovery from End-Stage Heart Failure (with an EF > 10%) has had its challenges and is lengthy so now it is our time to bless Ashleon's heart just as he has blessed so many. It's our chance to show love, appreciation, humanness, and support as a community in this challenging time.
