Let me tell you about my daughter Ashleigh... Ashleigh is the kindest person I know. She will give everything she has to make someone happy. When we are out in public, homeless people will come up to speak to her, call her by name, and hug her. They feel no judgment from her, only love and respect. She makes me beyond proud to be her mom. She is our peacemaker, our only daughter.
On her 21st birthday, she went to the hospital in severe pain, unable to even walk. What they found were two 10-inch blood clots blocking both of her leg arteries. She was transported to Birmingham where she had surgery to remove the clots. Now we must find out why at 21 years old she is having clotting issues and what blood disorder is causing it. This requires multiple trips to Birmingham to see her specialist, along with multiple tests and imaging. Right now, she sees the Vascular and Hematology specialist. She is also on a medication for life that costs $600 a month with GoodRX.
Ashleigh has worked hard and helped support her family for the last 4 years at the same job. Her job does not provide her insurance, so all the medical bills and expenses fall on her. At this time, she is unable to work due to the recovery. She has no means to get to her appointments or pay for the visits and tests out of pocket.
Ashleigh would never ask for help on her own and always feels someone else needs it more than her. But this time she truly needs it.
I am so proud of her, her faith, and character. Will you please consider helping her recover physically, mentally, and financially? If you cannot help financially, she would love your prayers and support. Thank you all for loving my girl!
