Ashley's Mission Trip to Haiti

Hello friends and family,

I'm going to Haiti this summer!!! During this past semester at Biola, the Lord has called me to serve somewhere outside of my comfort zone. I have been given the opportunity to serve with an organization called i’m ME. This non-profit organization exists to end the orphan cycle through teaching the orphans about the empowering structure of families, and to find their identities through family, care, and stewardship.

Being an Elementary Education major, I specifically felt the Lord calling me to Haiti and to this organization because I will be able to serve in i’m ME’s After School Program Site, Children’s Homes, and learn more about Haiti’s culture and community. Being able to use my calling as a teacher in an unfamiliar place to help spread the love of Jesus has been a desire that the Lord has placed on my heart for a long time.

My mission trip is a week long and will be help from May 28th to June 4th. The team I am going with will be leaving from LAX that Saturday and will be arriving at Port Au Prince in Haiti, and staying with a Haitian family throughout the week.

Due to techinical difficulties, I have had to change my fundraising site. All of the previous donations given through i'mME's site are going towards my trip, but I am just switching fundraising platforms.

I am still raising funds for my flight and organization fees until May 18th, and whether it be financial donations or prayer, thank you for supporting me in my call to spread Jesus to children in Haiti :)
