Hi, my name is Joseph, and on the 10th of April 2026, my Nana sadly passed away after battling Motor Neurone Disease. It was an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time for our family, especially in her final weeks as the disease took away her ability to speak and swallow.
During those last moments, Ashgate Hospice showed nothing but compassion, dignity, and kindness. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my Nana was as comfortable as possible, and they supported not only her, but our entire family through one of the hardest experiences we’ve ever faced. We will always be grateful for the care and respect they gave her.
However, hospices like Ashgate are under immense pressure. They are currently struggling with limited space and do not have enough rooms to support everyone who needs their care. No family should have to worry about whether their loved one can receive the comfort and dignity they deserve in their final days.
This GoFundMe has been created to help raise money for Ashgate Hospice, so they can expand their facilities and provide more rooms for patients suffering from serious illnesses like Motor Neurone Disease. Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards helping more families receive the same level of care and compassion that meant so much to us.
If you’re able to donate or even just share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to me and my family. Together, we can help make a difference for those going through the most difficult times of their lives.
Thank you so much for your support.
