Hi, I am Nick DiPaolo. I am a volunteer fire fighter from NJ. Through the years, I have tried to help the community when I can. Many of you supported me in the past when I responded to Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Florence and 2016 flood in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately, our fellow Americans in North Carolina are still recovering from Hurricane Helene. I felt a call to action, and I am asking you to support me once again.

After responding to Hurricane Harvey, I started a non-profit with some great people called American ResQ (http://americanresq.com/) which has responded to multiple disasters through the years. Well, the band (including Jay Spagnuolo and Don McConnell) is getting back together.

Most of the reporters and cameras are gone from NC, but these fellow Americans are still reeling from this storm. They are trying to dig out, repair their homes and mend their broken spirits. If ever there was a time for America to come together, that time is now.

I am deploying to Asheville, NC on 11/10/24 to work with a great organization called Samaritan's Purse for a week. I (along with the American ResQ team) will help hurricane victims dig out/clean-up and rebuild from the storm. I will chronicle the journey through my socials to raise awareness and document where your donations are going (search on Nick Dips on Insta or Facebook).

If you like grass roots efforts, it doesn't get better than this. Just as the past, all money raised through this campaign will go directly to support the victims of Hurricane Helene (self-funding all travel costs). I will purchase Visa, Home Depot, and Walmart gift cards and distribute directly to the victims I assist.

To have full control of the funds and get immediate access to them to purchase the gift cards, I set this GoFundMe as an individual rather than a nonprofit per GoFundMe rules. However, American ResQ is a 501.3c organization which means your donation may be a tax write-off. I will send you information confirming our non-profit status, thus allowing you to claim these donations for tax purposes.

I have a proven track record of volunteering, raising money through GoFundMe, and you can trust this money will go to the victims of Helene. Also, I will document the donation distributions on social media to provide further assurance this is a legitimate operation. The American ResQ team (including myself) is paying their own way down and the donated money will not go towards hotels, rental cars, meals, etc.

No dollar amount is too small, and sharing the link is just as valuable as a donation. Thank you for your support and keep all these victims and the emergency responders in your thoughts and prayers.
