Asheville Disaster Recovery Effort

Dear Friends and Supporters,

My name is Maripa. Along with my husband, Tim, my amazing kids Booker and Bela, our beloved dog Sable, and our two cats, Biffle and Taylor, We moved to Asheville 3 years ago. I’m reaching out to you during a time of urgent need. While we are safe, our community has been deeply impacted by the devastating flooding that followed Hurricane Helene.

Many homes have been destroyed, and countless families are facing unimaginable challenges. The floodwaters have wreaked havoc, and our local water treatment plant, which provides our running water supply, has been completely destroyed. This has left us without clean drinking water, creating additional difficulties as we work to rebuild and recover.

As we look to the future, we are hopeful that electricity will soon be restored. Schools will be preparing to reopen, but the road to recovery will be long and difficult for many of our neighbors.

This is where we live. This is where we will stay. We are determined to help our community bounce back from this disaster, and we need your support to do so.

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will go directly to community relief efforts, including:

Providing clean drinking water and essential supplies

Assisting families with housing and food needs

Supporting local businesses that have been affected

Helping schools reopen and provide a safe environment for our children
