Asher's Fundraiser

Hello, Thank you for being here. Asher is my grandson, he turned 6 years old in July. The youngest of three children. His mom Brooke is a full time Butcher and the sole provider for her family. At the end of a beautiful summer here in Eastern NC Asher was given a life changing diagnosis, Osteosarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer. His diagnosis followed some pain & swelling near his right knee that had only just begun days before, Asher was diagnosed quickly, thank God.

His treatment started right away. Asher is currently undergoing ten weeks of Chemotherapy & we as a family are just beginning to realize how hard he’s going to need to fight to win his health and vigor back.

Soon he will have surgery, this devastating cancer at the end of his femur needs to be removed along with his knee & a portion of the lower leg. With expert surgeons he will keep his ankle and foot at the end of his femur. The procedure, a Rotationplasty, is the best hope for this little guy to run and play again. Following surgery Asher will endure nineteen more weeks of chemotherapy.

Brooke is doing all she can to both provide and be the momma her son so desperately needs right now, sometimes missing shifts at work to be by his side. Asher is being treated at Duke Childrens Hospital in Durham NC about three hours from his home.
