The end of November Tyler and Jessica (Osborne) Ashby found out they were expecting twin girls! So much joy filled their hearts as they anticipated the arrival of two more sweet girls!
A month and a half later Jessica went to see a specialist, after she had found out that her girls were identical. The appointment didn’t go as hoped. They received the devastating news that the babies had Twin- twin Transfusion Syndrome which is a rare and serious condition of the placenta that affects one in seven identical twin pregnancies.
Where one baby is getting too much blood flow and the other not enough.
After being told this news they were given three options:
1. Terminate the pregnancy
2. Let the pregnancy take its course and both babies eventually die
3. have an emergency surgery that is only offered in three states in the US.
From these options they were pretty much given one, since two were out of the question.
That night they scheduled flights for LA to have the emergency surgery done a few days later (to try and even out the blood flow to the babies). The doctors, and family are very hopeful for the outcome of the surgery.
As you can imagine the emotional, and financial stress this brings on their family. The funds raised will be used to help with the unexpected emergency surgery, weekly doctor visits to specialists, and to give these girls a chance at life.
We can’t thank you enough for your generosity, selfless love, and prayers, in helping us get these girls here healthy and safe. Please help us spread the word on your Facebook, instagram, or any other way you can think of!
Love you all!
