Ashby Ivanhoe FC to Blackpool FC 120 Mile Charity Walk

Hi everyone,
Myself and Adryan run an Under 9’s football team at Ashby Ivanhoe FC.
Our initial idea was to do something to raise funds for our team to go towards equipment, kit, trainingwear, presentations etc to enable our group of kids to have the best experience of grassroots football possible.
Whilst discussing this, we came up with the idea of doing something on a much bigger scale and combining our fundraising for our team with making some money for a charity that is close to our hearts. We decided that we would like to use this opportunity to raise funds for Children With Cancer UK, as we feel they do some great work and we really wanted to support their cause.
So, we are going to walk from Ashby Ivanhoe FC (LE65 1TS) where our team is based, to Blackpool FC (FY1 6JJ) as this is a favourite resort amongst our group of kids and keeps the football theme going. This is a total distance of 120 miles to walk, and we will do this over a period of 4 days from Tues 18th Mar 25 to Fri 21st Mar 25, making overnight stops at Ashbourne, Stockport, Blackburn and finally Blackpool.

We don’t have a real target, we just want to raise as much money as physically possible for a charity that really uses this money well. We plan to give 75% of any donations to Children With Cancer UK, and 25% to Ashby Ivanhoe FC U9 Merlins. Should we manage to raise a significant amount during this challenge, the amount that we give to the football team would be capped at a maximum of £500, and anything else would go to the charity.
