Ashanti Rivera

On January 19, 2019 Ashanti Rivera gained her Wings at the age of 21, leaving  behind her three kids, Laniyah age 3, Kylie age 1 and her new addition Dominique who was born early this month on January 2, 2019.  For those who knew Ashanti knows she had a heart of gold and wouldn’t even hurt a fly. She left us too soon and now as a family we are left to pick up the pieces. Ashanti was born with sickle cell anemia, which is a severe hereditary form of anemia in which a mutated form of hemoglobin distorts the red blood cells into a crescent shape at low oxygen levels. It is most common among those of African descent. She has been in and out of the hospital suffering in pain you can’t imagine. Due to this disease Ashanti life was the hospital, she was unable to enjoy the many things she wished she could of enjoyed due to her sickness. Now as a family, How do we explain to her children “your mommy not here” we are devasted and in time of need to help give her a proper burial.
