Duffy's Friends is a 501 c (3) dedicated to placing pets in loving homes since 1998.

Ash was adopted to a wonderful home in October 2024 as a 15 week old puppy. She traveled from a overcrowded southern shelter via Pilot N Paws to have a second chance at life that every dog deserves!

Ash found herself at Cornell University July 2025 with a confirmed fungus called Cryptocaccus, that is transferred by pigeon's feces. It could have been from the dog park, hiking trails or found splashed on a sidewalk.

Duffy's Friends, along with her owner, raised 5K to proceed with surgery to help her little body fight the fungus as well as undergoing a fungal drug to assist her immune system. The fungal drug is not strong enough to stop the fungus and we are now in life saving mode with a powerful drug that is given via IV for 10 sessions. The estimate from Cornell University is $7, 000- $9,000 dollars.

Ash is so deserving of a third chance at life. We pray for your kindness / donation/ prayers to help this girl fight the good fight at Cornell University. Her treatment will start 7/30/25 the continue into the month of August. We are fortunate to have one of the best vet colleges in Ithaca, NY and she has a talented team of Internal Specialists working for her positive outcome.
