Hello. My name is Alicia, my husband's name is Zack. We have a 1.5 year old Cane Corso x Lab cross named Ash.

A couple weeks before we had her spay booked, we noticed one of her nipples near her reproductive area was extremely swollen and oozing pus. After draining the pus we felt that she had a very hard growth under her skin. Our family veterinarian took a sample of the growth and could not diagnose what it was in house. My husband and I had booked her spay with a different vet, and we had them remove the mass while she was getting spayed, and we had the mass sent for further testing. It came back as mammary carcinoma, AKA mammary cancer. A low grade one, however testing revealed that there is a possibility the cancer has spread throughout her body, as well as the tissue they removed around the tumor during the spay was not as much as recommended.

This brings me to why I have started this gofund me. The vet is advising we have imaging done on Ash's body to see if the cancer has spread, a full body X-ray and ultrasound of the abdomen area since that's where the cancer was found. As well as surgical removal of more tissue as they have said there's a 40% chance it can grow back in that area as the cancer was infiltrative to the tissue around it.

My husband and I are working middle class, we work Monday to Friday 8-5 jobs and we just cannot afford this imaging and surgery alone. Even our savings do not cover the total cost the vet has estimated, a total of nearly $8,000 CAD.

Ash is so young, she just got spayed and she has so so much life to live still and we refuse to do nothing and just hope she is cancer free for the rest of her days. With such a high chance already told to us that it can come back. I'm begging anyone who sees this gofund me to please help us help Ash. God bless and thank you so much.
