Ash, E and Baby V

Update 03/14/24:

Today will be E's first surgery. I was finally able to go in and see him for a few minutes last night and although he's a trooper and trying to be strong, his body and mind can do nothing but lay in a bed, which if you know him, or any guy, is so intensely hard. The burns on him have his body is in a constant state of chills, and he is hot to the touch, his body's response to it's trauma. The surgery today is the first and I wanna say most important, but really they all are going to be. Today they are really going to go into and clean all of his wounds and really assess each one for treatment They will need to do skin graphs, but to what extent is unknown right now. I was only visibly able to see his left ear and neck and it is going to take time for that to heal, but hopefully not have to have reconstructive surgery, but its so hard to tell since it was swollen and puffy, and I was focused on him and his well-being, not his injury.

Ash is going over multiple times, a day, and I'm either keeping Baby V here with me, or waiting outside the hospital burn unit because she's unable to go in the burn unit floor her daddy is on, so he is unable to see her. We are sending pics and videos because they were able to get temporary phones, which is an ongoing joke that they are their "burner phones" since theirs were lost to the fire.

Ash's eyes are still red puffy and bloodshot, she is using drops and ointments prescribedat the ER, but it's hard for her to see, she squints and blinks alot, and has to wear sunglasses outside, and even sometimes with the window curtain open. I am going to be looking into finding her an eye Dr for an actual eye exam, because at the ER they treated the immediate threat, and she tries to play it off, as I know she has to prioritize his and

Baby V's needs because that's how she is, and most women, especially mothers are, but that's why I'm here, to remind her she was also injured, and remind her I'm here to share the burden with her.

This whole thing just still feels seriously unreal. Not to dwell on the bastard that did this to my family, but his first court appearance was yesterday and was officially charged and still behind bars where he belongs!!

Hi, my name is Kim Wilson and this is being set up for my Daughter's little family. In the early morning of March 12th, while they were asleep, a hateful man, who is the father of their housemate, did something so unspeakable I'm still sick to my stomach about it. This man knowingly and unprovoked attacked E (26), Ash (26), and Baby V (not even 3 months old yet) by throwing accelerant on the bed they were asleep on, and SET THEM ON FIRE!!

THIS MAN PREMEDITATED MURDERING THE 3 OF THEM. THEY AWOKE TO HIM STANDING THERE WATCHING THEM BURN BEFORE HE FLED THE SCENE!!

Luckily Baby V was unharmed, while Ash sustained injuries to both eyes from whatever he threw on them, and is having to use drops and ointment because her eyes are red and swollen. Unfortunately E took the brunt of the accelerant as well as the flames, his skin was on fire as they ran from the house. After being taken to the ER at the Naval Hospital on Camp Lejeune, Ash and Baby V were discharged after both receiving medical attention, while they had to take E by Life Flight to Chapel Hill Burn Center with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his back, left side, left arm, and left ear, they also had to shave his hair off because of the damage to his head and ear.

The horrible man has been arrested and charged with 3 counts of attempted murder, arson, and use of accelerant.

The home was a crime scene and although we have been unable to go in, the home has been deemed uninhabitable, and the Fire being focused as far as we know to their bedroom, their clothes and personal items are a total loss. We have no idea if he also set a fire in Baby V's room, but the entire upstairs where it is has smoke and water damage now.

Right now we are in a hotel a few minutes away from the hospital and we are booked here until the 21st.

E will be evaluated on Thursday, once some of the swelling goes down. This is not going to be an easy recovery at all.

I know some people might like to do other kinds of donations such as clothes and baby items but as of right now being at a hotel we just don't have the room, but when they get an apartment those will be greatly appreciated as well.

As I sit in this hotel room unable to sleep, just to note I left Maine at 6 am on the 12th, and made it to Chapel Hill NC at 10 pm on the 12th, no I still can't sleep, I'm watching my daughter, sleep with my grandbaby, and its the first time she has slept since being awoken to the most terrifying situation a person can imagine, being on fire .. I need, no I HAVE to watch over her, so she knows she is safe if she wakes up scared, I am here.
