Gunners Emergency Spinal Disc surgery

Hello Iam Tyrone , an USAF Vet,and this is my best friend of 4 legs for past 10 years,Gunner. He has the soul of a gentle giant and has such a loving personality. Everyone who had the privilege to work on him such as a dog groomer or sitter,have expressed how such a kind gentle best german shepard they have ever seen.
He has has the love of children and friends and family everywhere. He loves the ocean and beach...running along the shore.

He has the most beautiful eyes with clear whites showing his emotion and love as any dog can...kindness and love as I've never seen from such a breed.
If you met him he would greet you with a tail wag a friendly sniff in the butt and smile to follow...a true companion that makes friends everywhere.

I love him deeply.

Today his back legs stopped supporting him. It broke my heart to see him trying to walk but only dragged and struggled to pull his legs to come to me. When I pet him he cried out with discomfort.

I took Gunner to the pet Hospital and after all day there, x-rays and blood work and sedation, $795 later I was told he had a spinal disc that was injured. His back had arthritis too and was sent home with meds that would help alittle with the severe pain. 
The disc has to be removed to regain his ability to walk.  
I plan on having UC DavisAnimal surgeon's work on him. They come very highly recommended.

I had to place him on a big moving blanket and my sweetheart and I took two corners each and tried to lift from the suv his 98 lbs into a modified place in the living room.

He has to remain without much movement for 4 to 6 weeks. But the surgery should be done ASAP.

He has no appetite today. I purchased special dog underwear to keep him clean plus a tarp to put on top of his large bed,as to make clean up easier.

I have to make a harness out of a towel to place under his chest to lift his back legs to hopefully allow him to potty. Meds are given 1x a day.

The back surgery has a 90% + success rate. The surgeon will have to do a body scan to get a better detail of repair of removing the compressed lower spinal disc that will be immediate relief of pain and discomfort and allow walking again.

This is very hard for me to create such a request but during these challenging times in this state of California plus covid , My business that I own has suffered extremely and Iam working on keeping afloat.
Adding more credit debt is not advisable since Iam refi my home.

This came at a tough time but I plan of working on creating some of the required funds to help Gunner.

Iam going thru the last part of a bad divorce and am so blessed to have a partner now in my in life that loves me and Gunner unconditional and she is helping as much as she can.

I love animals and never have dealt with such an emotional challenge of helping my best furry friend.
He has many years left in him to bring smiles to those who meet him.

I have always been one who helps my local community or nationally to do anything to help those in need.

9/11 I produced a music montages of the days events to rase funds to help the victims of that tragedy.

2006 I set up delivery of over 150 tons of goods to help Americans hurt by hurricane Katrina.  I never wanted any attention and gave all to make that happen halfway across the country.

This past year of 2020 was a disaster of which Iam starting to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. Losing my friend will not happen. For this reason Iam asking for all of your kindness and generosity to please help with just a small amount...if you can afford more then thank you. Gunner thanks you as he has no voice and that is why Iam reaching out. 

As a vet I love my country and have such pride as a father of two grown Eagle scouts.

But times have changed and now Iam humbled and have such a simple request...can you and all those who love animals and fellow pet owner please help me pay for the surgery required to bring Gunner my sweet companion back to health and able to walk again.

This is very hard for me to ask.

I would like to say after things improve business wise I would offer to repay all who have helped and sent money.
