Help Us Restore Masjid Fatti - Asebot, Ethiopia
Donation protected
Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,
We are undertaking this initiative on behalf of the people of Asebot (located in the Hararghe, Oromia region of Ethiopia). The community currently lacks a proper place for prayer and learning. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 450, Sahih Muslim 533)
Asebot has a rich Islamic history in the Hararghe region. In fact, the name "Asebot" is derived from the word Sahaba who were, the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and currently reflects the local Oromo language. This area was once a center of dawah and Islamic teaching, and the goal is to restore that legacy by rebuilding its masjid.
Today, Masjid Fatti is not in an ideal state. It’s not suitable for regular daily prayers, and the community-especially the youth-have no structured space for learning Qur’an or attending Islamic classes. During Jumu’ah and Ramadan, people are often forced to pray outside due to space or shelter issues. Inshallah Masjid Fatti will serve the surrounding communities including Mieso, Dalecha, etc. With your help, we hope to create:
A clean and solid prayer space
An area for teaching Qur’an and basic Islamic studies
Wudu and restroom facilities
Qur’ans, prayer rugs, and other essential items
This is an opportunity for Sadaqah Jariyah. Every prayer made, every child who learns in the masjid, and every act of worship performed there will carry a reward for everyone who contributed.
The funds raised through this platform will be given to the committee overseeing the daily operations for construction. Please consider donating whatever you can, and if you can’t give at this time, sharing this campaign with others is a great help. May Allah reward your generosity and make this project a source of Barakah for us all.
