Asad is a fun loving, inspirational child who has already had some hard knocks in life, but continues to keep a smile on his face.   In addition to struggling through life with a single mom, who is in school and has only enough income to provide his basics needs, Asad has undergone treatment for AML leukemia since being diagnosed in February.  Asad has gone through two chemotherapy sessions and an intense chemotherapy treatment before his Bone Marrow Transplant in May.  The last chemotherapy left Asad in a dibilitating state of mouth sores and vomiting.  

Just as the prior funding ran out, we had to return to the hospital because Asad's system rejected the first BMT and his red and white blood counts became dangerously low.   We are back at the hospital again, undergoing intense chemo to receive a second BMT.  The bills at home are overwhelming and I may have to take time away from Asad in order to pay rent.  This may be very difficult, because keeping Asad's spirits up is part of the healing process.
