Fundraiser for a STRIKE FORCE

My name is Chris Faria, I’m 26 years old and I was born with cerebral palsy. I use an electric wheelchair on a daily basis. I believe that my life’s purpose is to use my disability as my greatest ability. My passion in life is athletics. I am very active in the sport of wheelchair soccer, called Powersoccer, where I am a member of the San Jose Steamrollers. There are over 50 Powersoccer teams across the United States. You can learn more about this sport at www.powersoccerusa.net. Powersoccer has allowed me to compete and experience team sports as able body people do. It is my passion in life and I'm currently trying to independently raise funds to purchase a brand-new power wheelchair (shown in the above picture) to continue to play the game I love and continue to improve my skills and competitive level.
This is a special wheelchair, called a StrikeForce Chair, is specifically designed for the sport and has become a virtual requirement to play the game. Most players now have them. However, the chairs are expensive as the base price is close to $8,000. Raising money of this magnitude can be difficult for a disabled individual like me, who has a relatively low fixed income. With that said, it is only through generous donations that I will be able to purchase this special wheelchair and allow me to continue to play the game I love.
