Vegan Animal Sanctuary (Santuario de Karuna) Needs Your Help!
Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar up to $7,500!!
This week, we had an electrician come up to Santuario de Karuna to give us an estimate for electrical work at the sanctuary. This work has been on our list for a very long time and we knew the estimate was going to be high. We also know that it has to be done, for the safety of our home, the animals and the amazing sanctuary we are building.
This electrical work will replace all extension cords and put electrical outlets at every one of the houses to run heat, fans, lights and heated water bowls for all of Santuario's residents. The estimate also includes the workshop and the studio. All outlets will be GFCI protected for the safety of the animals and all work will be to code and permits will be pulled.
The estimate is for $7,300.00 and work will begin immediately, as we are expecting a cold winter with lots of snow.
Tamara and I both have done, and will continue to do everything we can to fund, out of our own pockets if necessary, the building materials and the food and necessities to keep everyone happy and healthy and warm and fed.
We have a dream and every day, we are building towards it. We love all of the amazing beings who call Santuario de Karuna home and what each one of them has brought to the sanctuary. They all have amazing stories of the journeys that brought them to us and they all remind us how to live in gratitude, every single day.
We are so blessed to have an anonymous donor that has offered to match, dollar for dollar up to $7,500.00 of our $15,000 goal. Every dollar donated will be matched 100% up to $7,500.00.
Although the donor is anonymous to everyone else, they are not anonymous to us. We cannot possibly express in words how deeply touched we are. Tamara and I both spend the majority of our time every single day in gratitude and today, our big bowl of gratitude is overflowing and our hearts are full.
All money raised over our goal for the electrical work will be used to pay off existing credit card bills that Tamara has so graciously incurred on her personal credit card to keep the sanctuary going when we didn't have enough donation funds to cover expenses to build and feed and vet everyone. All money, always, goes to feed, shelter and care for the animals and to maintain the Sanctuary and your donations are so very much appreciated.
We want to thank everyone who has helped us so far in donating time and money and talent to building our dream. Our non-profit paperwork is submitted and being reviewed as we speak and we hope to obtain our non-profit status very, very soon.
