Julian Strong
On July 23 2021 Amanda and Rob experienced something no parent should ever have to experience. Their son Julian awoke from a nap and began to cry out. Within seconds of holding him, Julian started to turn blue and went into cardiac arrest. Amanda immediately called 911 as Rob placed Julian down on their bed and immediately began infant CPR. Hazlet Police Department arrived on scene within minutes and applied an AED ( automated external defibrillator) to Julians chest. Luckily, with the help of Everyone present, Julian regained consciousness and was brought to jersey shore medical center where he was stable. He was then airlifted to CHOP ( children’s hospital of Philadelphia) where he has remained for over a month. Amanda and Rob had to see their precious little boy sedated, placed on a ventilator and brought to the CICU until the doctors could figure out what was going on with Julian’s heart.
After 10 days in the hospital and what seemed to be a rollercoaster of emotions, it was determined that Julian needed to have an ICD (Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator ) placed inside his chest to help with his heart arrhythmia. Before his surgery, Julian was shocked 6 times in a matter of 10 days.
After surgery, Julian had numerous blood clots in his leg and fluid around his heart. It was determined, through genetic testing, that Julian was diagnosed with CPVT (Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia) which is a rare condition. It causes an irregular heart rhythm that can be life threatening.
Since then, however, Julian has been thriving thanks to the countless medications and the love and support from all the doctors and nurses. Julian is now stable, and as I write this, has been released from the CHOP today (8/23). Thanks to the medical professionals, Julian is going to lead a great/ normal life.
It goes without saying that the medical bills are starting to accrue. Amanda and Rob are now left with thousands of dollars in medical bills and medication expenses which Julian will have to take for the remainder of his life. We would like to alleviate Amanda and Rob of any stresses financially so that they can focus on the health and strength of their son, Julian. We thank you so much for any donation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Again, on behalf of my sister Amanda, her husband Rob and our entire family , I can not thank you all enough. Thank you for everyone’s love and support. Julian is here today because of you all ! He is our families hero and a true miracle. We know he is destined to do great things in this world.
