Hi Everyone!
Some people may be wondering why a 16 year old boy is raising money... but here's why. Over spring break of 2014, I caught what my family and I thought was just the normal cold but it turned out to be more than that. Come to find out I actually have a paralyzed vocal cord. Now to this day I have visited multiple ENT's and have I have also been visiting the University of Michigan Hospital, but they don't have any idea's on how to fully cure my vocal cord. As a 16 year old boy it is kind of hard going through a normal day with people always asking you what is wrong with your voice. Just going through drive - thru's and even yelling for my friends has been very hard to adjust to. Now I have just grown to accept all the trouble and questions. At my last visit to U of M, I asked my doctor what the chances are of having surgery and he said he would love to have more than his own opinion on something so serious as this. He also told me that he has never seen the condition I have before because many things attacked my vocal cords at the same time. He has now decided that he wants to send me to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia... but of course this is not going to be cheap. Asking for help from others isnt something my family and I like to do, but I am really only searching for my voice back. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me to be able to visit one of the best vocal cord doctors in the country and for me to be able to find out exaclty how we can fix my vocal cord. With more improved equipment at Philadelphia it will really help me get my voice back to the way it used to be. With the help of my family, friends, and the community I am hoping to make this possible.
Thank you!
