Hi all, as some people have been told a few days ago my father Vince McKinley was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic brain cancer. It has since been discovered in his lungs and we were given the news that it’s a very grim prognosis with the word “terminal” being used. I can’t even begin to process what this means in the new future for our family.

What I do know is that I have a 9 year old brother who is my fathers pride and joy, who he has sole guardianship of. The upcoming days making decisions (legally) for him as well as travel between Hinton and Edmonton while both my father and I are not able to work is going to be very financially challenging. I asking for help to take some of this burden off myself, my sister and my stepmom as we try to navigate this impossible time.

My dad is my whole world. He had his struggles in the past and overcame that life with so much pride and will to live. He took on his son on his own without hesitation and was lucky enough to find someone to love him and his son with all her heart. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need and I’m praying for some miracle that the lord can give back to him at this time. My father has been a part of the arm wrestling community across Canada for most of his life and had so much passion for the sport that he carried on to his children.

If you have the means to help us through this unexpected expenses thank you from the bottom of my heart, and if not that is ok. Please just pray for us, pray for him and my little brother and a family that is holding onto any tiny miracle at this time.
