Hello everyone, I created this GoFundMe for my sister, Rosa, to help support her during one of the most difficult times in her life as she continues her fight against breast cancer. Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, support, and for taking the time to read her story.

My sister, DeliaRosa “Rosa” Godoy, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) breast cancer on October 2, 2025, and since that day, I have watched her face one of the hardest battles of her life with incredible strength, grace, courage, and unwavering faith in God.

Rosa is so much more than her diagnosis. She is a loving mother of two, a devoted woman of faith, and someone who has spent so much of her life helping and serving others through her church, her community, and simply through the way she loves people. She is deeply involved in the Catholic Church and is the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation, offering prayers, comfort, encouragement, and support to anyone in need. She is compassionate, trustworthy, resilient, hardworking, outspoken, family oriented, and carries a heart bigger than most people will ever know.

If you know my sister, then you know she is a radiant beacon of light. Even throughout one of the most difficult seasons of her life, she has continued to remain positive, humble, and strong for the people around her. Fighter does not even begin to describe who she is. Cancer has challenged her in so many ways, but it has not broken her spirit or defined who she is. Through every appointment, treatment, moment of fear, and uncertainty, she has continued to hold tightly to her faith, trusting God and leaning on the love of her family to keep moving forward.

Rosa’s last day of work was November 10, 2025, shortly before beginning chemotherapy treatments on November 13, 2025. She completed chemotherapy on April 7, 2026, and just had her partial mastectomy/lumpectomy surgery today May 14, 2026, followed by continued treatment and radiation during recovery.

Although Rosa does have insurance, not all of her treatments and procedures have been fully covered, leaving her with significant out-of-pocket medical expenses. She is also currently working to have her disability benefits extended, as she was originally expected to return to work in May while still facing surgery and recovery.

Creating this GoFundMe is not something my sister would have ever wanted for herself because she has always been the one giving help, not asking for it. She is fiercely independent and has carried this journey with so much humility, courage, and strength. But as her sister, it hurts watching her carry such a heavy burden while continuing to fight so hard every single day.

Any donation, prayer, or share means more than words can express. Every contribution will go toward helping Rosa with medical expenses, treatment costs, and easing the financial stress so she can focus on healing, recovery, and continuing this fight.

Hola a todos, creé este GoFundMe para mi hermana, Rosa, para ayudarla y apoyarla durante uno de los momentos más difíciles de su vida mientras continúa su lucha contra el cáncer de mama. Muchas gracias a todos por su amor, sus oraciones, su apoyo y por tomarse el tiempo de leer su historia.

Mi hermana, DeliaRosa “Rosa” Godoy, fue diagnosticada con cáncer de mama, Carcinoma Ductal Invasivo (IDC) etapa 2, el 2 de octubre del 2025, y desde ese día he visto cómo ha enfrentado una de las batallas más difíciles de su vida con una fuerza, valentía, humildad y una fe inmensa en Dios.

Rosa es mucho más que un diagnóstico. Es una madre amorosa de dos hijos, una mujer de fe y una persona que ha dedicado gran parte de su vida a ayudar y servir a los demás a través de su iglesia, su comunidad y simplemente por la manera tan noble en la que trata a las personas. Está muy involucrada en la Iglesia Católica y es de esas personas que siempre están para los demás sin pensarlo dos veces, ofreciendo oraciones, apoyo, palabras de aliento, consuelo y amor a quien lo necesite. Es compasiva, trabajadora, fuerte, confiable, muy unida a su familia y tiene un corazón enorme.

Si conoces a mi hermana, entonces sabes que ella es una luz para todos los que la rodean. Aun en uno de los momentos más difíciles de su vida, ha seguido siendo positiva, humilde y fuerte para los demás. “Luchadora” ni siquiera empieza a describir quién es ella. El cáncer la ha puesto a prueba de muchas maneras, pero no le ha quitado su esencia ni ha logrado quebrantar su espíritu. A través de cada cita médica, tratamiento, momento de miedo e incertidumbre, ella se ha mantenido firme en su fe, confiando en Dios y apoyándose en el amor de su familia para seguir adelante.

El último día que Rosa pudo trabajar fue el 10 de noviembre del 2025, poco antes de comenzar sus tratamientos de quimioterapia el 13 de noviembre del 2025. Terminó la quimioterapia el 7 de abril del 2026 y hoy se sometió a una cirugía para su mastectomía parcial/lumpectomía programada el 14 de mayo del 2026, seguida de tratamiento y radiación durante su recuperación.

Aunque Rosa tiene aseguranza médica, no todos sus tratamientos y procedimientos han sido cubiertos completamente, lo que ha dejado gastos médicos muy altos que ha tenido que pagar de su bolsillo. Actualmente también está tratando de extender sus beneficios de discapacidad, ya que originalmente se esperaba que regresara a trabajar en mayo mientras todavía enfrenta cirugía y recuperación.

Crear este GoFundMe no es algo que mi hermana hubiera querido para ella misma, porque ella siempre ha sido la persona que ayuda, no la que pide ayuda. Es una mujer muy independiente y ha llevado todo este proceso con muchísima humildad, fortaleza y valentía. Pero como su hermana, me duele verla cargar con un peso tan grande mientras sigue luchando cada día con tanta fuerza.

Cualquier donación, oración o el simple hecho de compartir esta página significa más de lo que las palabras pueden expresar. Cada contribución ayudará a Rosa con gastos médicos, costos de tratamiento y a aliviar un poco la carga financiera para que pueda enfocarse en sanar, recuperarse y seguir luchando.
