As Our Own Fundraiser - Books

We are reaching out to you to share this amazing ministry we are a part of and to ask for your prayerful consideration in support of us, Dakota and Sierra Rostant, as we work to raise money for books in their library.

The mission of As Our Own is: “to fulfill the purpose for vulnerable children in India, caring for them as our own, for life.” This ministry works to rescue children from the darkness of the sex trafficking industry and provides them with a life of hope and healing. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint,” Isaiah 40:31. Jesus moves towards, not away, from the weak, needy, powerless, and vulnerable. He chooses people not for what they have to offer Him but for what He can do in and through them.

As Our Own has opened our eyes to the atrocities of our world and we are blessed to have this opportunity, as a high school senior and sophomore, to have a sense of purpose and servitude to these precious girls and this transformative organization. Thinking of these vulnerable children being rescued from a place filled with unthinkable pain, abandonment and suffering, and then being called out of darkness into his marvelous light, surrounded by people who love them, fills our hearts with overwhelming gratitude to our Lord and for this ministry. This brings James 1:27 to mind, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Want to join us in making a difference? We are raising money to benefit As Our Own to build their library of books in their school. For our fundraiser Dakota and Sierra will be running the Houston half marathon in January 2024 and Sierra will be running another half marathon at Terry Hershey in February 2024.
