Meet Luna…. My best friend’s adorable 4 month old puppy!

Unfortunately Luna was in a freak accident at their home on the evening of Monday 26th of January and has sustained life changing injuries.

She has multiple hairline fractures in her front right leg and a broken knee and large fracture in the bone behind her knee, on her back right leg.

Luna is insured but this will not cover the surgery and after care costs required for this substantial injury. Alice and her family were given 12 hours to find £4000 for the surgery and after care cost or they would need to surrender Luna to the vets.

Alice of course booked Luna in for the surgery and walked away with hope, this was supposed to take place on Thursday 29th of January but the family were unable to find the funds in time and had to cancel it. With the only option left but to surrender Luna to the vets, Alice made one more plea to the vets to make sure there were no more options available.

The surgeon agreed to allow Luna to be on strict crate rest for 4 weeks to see if the bones begin to heel themselves and to give time for financial resources to be seeked, particularly focusing on the front leg heeling the quickest to enable amputation of the back leg if surgery was no longer an option. This is a very difficult time for Luna as she is a bouncy, energetic puppy who still wants to play with her family. Luna is being cared for in the comfort of her own home and awaiting more X-rays in 4 weeks.

This has given the family time to pray some heeling starts and to enable them to find financial help for Luna to go through with the surgery on her back leg or if needed, to prevent further complications in the future have the back leg amputated, amputation is only an option if the front hairline fractures on the front leg heel correctly.

The future is unknown right now but please help us raise anything we can to help this gorgeous girl and her heartbroken family on this journey. She has so much life left to live, let’s make is possible

All funds raised will go towards Lunas follow up X-rays in 4 weeks, surgery or amputation on the back leg and any aftercare cost she may need.
