Arya's Journey: From Panic to Pages
Donation protected
Help us help our daughter's dream of writing a book come true!
When we asked Arya why she wanted to write this book (and several others she has planned), she said...
"It is hard to feel like you're the only one feeling this way, and not everyone knows how to handle those feelings. I think it's better to learn how from another kid who feels the same way than a grown-up trying to remember and explain it. And I love books!"
Arya is my amazing 7-year-old daughter! About 10 months ago, she was diagnosed with Autism.
During her appointments with doctors and therapists, she described her panic attacks in a way that astounded them! Three different professionals told her she should become an author and help other kids understand and not feel so alone!
Arya got so excited by this idea she started right away! LIKE ON THE WAY HOME.
We spent the next few weeks revisiting her story, getting it to say just what she wanted. She was so excited and wanted to share it, we let her doctors and therapists read it, and they loved it!
She asked if we could make it a real book that other kids and their families could buy! So we reached out to a few amazing local illustrators and found one who is going to help us make her dream a reality!
This is where we need your help!
We are ready to officially bring on our illustrator and start the self-publishing process!
We are hoping we can raise the funds to help offset the cost!
So please consider donating or sharing this with those who may.
Funds raised will be helping to pay for:
Our illustrator
Editing
Printing costs
Marketing and some distribution!
Arya has said she will do a lemonade stand, yard sale, and ask for donations instead of presents for holidays to help raise funds, and of course, mom and dad will be helping! However, this is a time I'm hoping our community will rally around our girl!
