Arya’s Double ACL Surgery ☹️

Hello! My name is Isabel, and I am raising funds on behalf of my sweet darling dog Arya. My dog, by virtue of simply being a pitbull who loves to do pitbull things, has recently torn both ACL’s in her back legs and is now requiring an expensive surgery to correct them and return to her normal quality of life. It is unlikely that I will be approved for a loan big enough to cover the surgery, so I am asking for help from my community.

For those of you who have met Arya, you know that she loves every person she meets as if they were her person. She has an incredible capacity to make people feel better, and has been the emotional support animal stand-in for many people who have come in contact with this very special dog in my home.

She is so special, in fact, that she is the biggest reason that I was able to get sober in the first place. Humans are nuanced and flawed, but resilient, so it was not really the humans in my life that I was afraid of leaving behind when I inevitably died from my addiction. That was just the truth. It was this dog, who loved me and followed me all the way down to my rock bottom. She was the only thing that pulled me out. I promised myself when I got better that I would spend the rest of her life doing everything I can to give her the life that she always deserved- the life I could not give her when I was in active addiction.

Today, a little over 2 years later, I get to make the big adult decision to take on debt so that she can go on to run around like the young dog she is. I get to help her to not be defined by an injury, and to make sure she has a long life of high quality. I get to make good on the promise I made to Arya when I got well. I just need a little help. I’ve recently been hit with a lot of unexpected large expenses. At the end of last year, my car broke down and I needed to purchase a new one. I’ve acquired some unexpected medical bills of my own, and of course the monthly onslaught of rent, student loans, and all the other expenses of life. I’m only 24, and I don’t have the savings account or credit history that I should, so any help would be appreciated.

I am working on getting a financial plan to get her in the door for surgery sooner than later, but in the meantime I could just use assistance in getting at least some of the money together since I likely will not be approved for a big enough loan to cover the cost of the surgery.
