ARYANS FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

Hi, my name is Karleigh Spencer. I am creating this on behalf of my beautiful 11 year old sister, Aryan.

Just two weeks ago, Aryan had a small lump on her back that was causing her pain and discomfort. Aryan was taken to the doctor in hopes of some answers and they had come back with an "inflamed trapezius muscle." We were instructed to rub her back and keep her arm in a sling to allow the inflammation to decrease. The very next day Aryan's pain had gotten worse, and the inflammation was visibly worse, so we took her to the ER; the doctor came into see her and handed her a valium prescription and sent us on our way.

Just 4 short days later, Aryan woke up with no feeling in her legs & feet. We had rushed her to the emergency room again, and after seeing she had no response to a needle poke on the bottom of her feet, she was then rushed by ambulance to Primary Childrens Hospital. Aryan is paralyzed from the belly button down.

After many scans, we received the diagnosis in which we got the news that Aryan had a tumor wrapped around her spinal cord. She needed emergency surgery to relieve pressure on the spine to have a chance at gaining back her motor skills in her legs and bowels to ever have a chance at walking again.

After surgery, it was determined that Aryan's tumor was a form of Sarcoma Cancer.

Multiple pet scans, MRI, CT scans were performed, and we then received the news cancer had spread to her lungs. We are still awaiting results to see if it has spread anywhere else in her body.

We are also still waiting for more information on the type of Sarcoma cancer, but we know it is an extremely aggressive form of Sarcoma that is stage 4.

Aryan is beginning her first round of chemotherapy on November 29. 2022 and will remain at Primary Children's until she gains feeling back in her legs and learns how to walk again (PT) or it is determined she will never walk again.

What we need most right now are prayers. So please, first and foremost, pray for Aryan and the Spencer family. With hospital stays and the commute from Smithfield to salt lake city being 120 miles one way, as well as chemotherapy/radiation treatment, comes bills.

Ashley (Aryan's mom) has been forced to quit her job due to these circumstances and has two other children, 8 and 10 years old. Shane (Aryan's Dad) is the only source of income at this time, and as you can imagine, with half the income and taking time off throughout the diagnosis, bills are starting to accumulate.
