Arya is my sweet, goofy little girl. About 3 weeks ago, I noticed she had a swollen lymph node; as I started to feel around for others, I noticed she had a few lymph nodes. I got her into the vet for her regular check up and to investigate the lymph nodes the following week. A FNA (fine needle aspirate) was done to assess further, as both her vet and I were concerned. One long week later, the results came back…positive for lymphoma. Now to make the decision: treat her with chemo and give her more time and hopefully help her feel better? Or palliative care and give her a few months. She’s my Princess and I’ll do whatever to give her the best quality of life. While she has some times I can see she’s struggling a little bit, she’s still wanting to sunbathe and run around in the backyard with her brothers, and she’ll tire you out playing tug o war.
So, off to the oncology specialist we go. We are still waiting on her exact treatment plan and protocol, but her primary care vet has given us an estimated cost of $5,000 for her total treatment. This will depend on a number of factors, specifically what protocol she ends up on and how she responds, but I’ll update as we go through the process.
I will do whatever it takes to get her feeling better, unfortunately, my Covid drained savings account is putting forth some hurdles to accomplish that.
If you feel so inclined to help me help my little nugget, it would be so greatly appreciated.
