This sweet girl’s name is Arwen. She’s been my best friend for the last 9 years, ever since my senior year of college when I adopted the little gremlin climbing the side of her kennel.

Unfortunately, on Monday she was under the weather. I took her to the vet that same day and she was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. She has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (Feline AIDS) so over the next day, she progressed to the point where she was having trouble breathing.

Last night, I had no choice but to take her to the emergency vet where she was put on Oxygen while they took X-rays and performed some labs. The vet felt she needed to be hospitalized overnight and given breathing treatments throughout the night. Luckily I was able to pick her up today with a strict medicine regiment (getting her to swallow pills will be super fun).

As it was an emergency appointment and she was hospitalized, the bill is more than I’m able to handle as a preschool teacher.
