Hi, I’m Arthur, and the human in the picture with me is my Mum Mandie… she calls me Arty. She tells everyone I am her world (and you’d believe her if you saw how many weekly photoshoots she puts me through).
I recently got a nasty infection, which has since spread up my leg, causing a lot of pain for me and worry for my Mum. Because of this I’ve had lots of strange humans called ‘vets’ coming to look at me, I even had a sleepover with them for a couple of nights for extra medication to try and help me get better.
I am so desperate to go out to my friends, and more importantly to munch on some delicious grass. But apparently, as I am a distinguished older gentleman, I heal much slower than when I was a young chap. Meaning more vet visits, extra precaution, lots and lots of medication and treatment to come. The insurance companies won’t insure me and Mum is working as hard, and doing as much as she can, to cover my bills and care.
I know how much she loves me and is counting on me to get better. As I’m a horse, not a human, I can’t get a job and I’m feeling rather guilty I can’t help with the cost. My mum would hate me saying this, but she is the most selfless, caring person and would do anything for others. So me and mums friends thought we would try and help her out in return, for once.
I will give you a virtual horsey kiss, fuzzy whiskers and all, to say thank you for any human pennies donated - these will be used for my ongoing treatment, care and recovery so that I can get back to riding with my Mum onboard…our favourite thing in the world.
