It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we are sharing that Arturo Chavez. Jr. A.K.A. Mijo will be going into hospice care. Arturo has been battling kidney failure for quite some time and started dialysis in December of 2015. Arturo got an infection in his kidneys in mid February and has been receiving treatment at San Diego Hospital (UCSD) for his kidney disease for the last two months. The plan was to get his infected kidneys stable enough with antibiotics so he could have them surgically removed but due to many health obstacles this is no longer an option. On April 14th the team of doctor’s that are treating Arturo informed us that all options have been exhausted and they are unable to help Arturo. Our Arturo is 38, raised in Corona, CA. He graduated from Corona High School in 2000 through their special education program. He was able to experience working at Farrs stationary with assistance and Ability Counts for the disabled for a few years. Arturo has always been a happy and vibrant young man. Arturo always had a smile on his face and was always ready for whatever came his way. He loved going to his day program to keep him positive and surrounded by friends. Arturo loves his family and was always the first one to receive them and hug them at the door at family events. If Arturo saw that a loved one was upset he would get upset and try to cheer them up. Please donate if you can. All donations will be used for Arturo's funeral services.
