Arturo Melendez Covid Recovery
Arturo travelled from Puerto Rico to Oak Lawn in pursuit of better opportunities. Shortly after arriving in my home and him settling in. He began his search for employment. He was able to secure employment in a good company within 3 weeks of arriving. Arturo was excited and motivated as all the chips were falling into place. After his 3rd day of employment, he fell ill. He was not able to return to work and the mysterious illness turned out to be Covid-19. He would be facing an extreme case of Covid-19. That would leave him in the hospital for 4 months!
These four months were the hardest watching how my best friend/brother was bedridden, intubated, comatose, and breathing from a machine. This was the scariest times for his Family and myself.
BUT I am happy to say Arturo’s has won the fight! He is now conscious and extremely weak, but back! He retains a positive attitude towards the situation and continues smiling through this adversity. Unfortunately Arturo has acquired a large medical bill since he was uninsured for the large majority of his hospitalization.
I have created this fundraiser to help Arturo in affording the care and support he will need for the remainder of his fight. Any donation you make will be used for his medical bills.
Arturo is a hard worker, ambitious, loyal friend, great son/brother and fun guy overall. Any little bit you can spare will help.

Arturo vino de Puerto Rico a Oak Lawn en busca de mejores oportunidades. Un poco después de llegar a mi casa empezó su búsqueda de empleo. El logro asegurar empleo dentro de 3 semanas de aver llegado. Arturo estaba bien emocionado y animado que todo estuviera cayendo en su lugar. Después de su 3rd día de empleo, se enfermo. No fue capaz de regresar al trabajo y la misteriosa enfermedad resulto ser Covid-19. El estaría enfrentando un caso extremo de Covid-19. Que lo dejaría hospitalizado por 4 meses!
Estos cuatro meses han sido los mas difíciles ver my mejor amigo/hermano postrado en cama, entubado, comatoso, y respirando a travez de una maquina. Fueron tiempos espantosos para su familia y yo.
PERO estoy feliz en reportar que Arturo ah ganado la batalla. El esta consiente y extremadamente débil, pero de regreso! Mantiene una actitud positiva hacia la situación y continuará sonriendo mediante de está adversidad. Desafortunadamente Arturo adquirió una grande factura medica ya que la mayoría de su hospitalization estaba sin seguro.
Eh creado este recaudación de fondos para ayudar Arturo en poder pagar el cuidado y apoyo el necesitara para continuar su pelea. Cualquier donación sera para sus facturas medicas.
Arturo es un buen hijo/hermano, amigo, divertido, y humilde. Lo poco que puedan donar ayudara
