Friends,
As you may have heard, Aaron's dad Arturo was diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer in early September. After having surgery to remove his thyroid, the cancer unfortunately came back more aggresively and spread beyond his throat to his lungs. Chemo to contain it has been ineffective, and now Arturo is resting at home in hospice care with his loved ones.
Aaron, his mom, and his brother are now making arrangements for Arturo's cremation and placement in a columbarium near Pico Rivera so that he can be near his family and their home, per his wishes.
Since Arturo was very healthy and active prior to his diagnosis, the family did not anticipate these impending expenses. $1,000 dollars will not totally cover the cost, but it would certainly help the family in a trying time and ease the financial burden of the cremation and space for his urn at the cemetary, in addition to his medical expenses. It's unimaginably difficult enough to watch a loved one receive a shocking diagnosis and end up in hospice 7 weeks later, and while we can't mitigate the emotional difficulty of this, I know financial help will be greatly appreciated by the Garcias.
As Arturo is in hospice care, it's clear that he does not have much time left, so the sooner you can donate and spread the word, the better. Thank you for your help!
