Hey everyone it's Paula. I haven't wanted to post this but I'm like in the middle of receiving benefits as I applied for Medicaid but I'm waiting for a decision so in the meantime I am having to pay out of pocket for diapers, wipes, chucks, commode bags, gloves and so much more. I have gone through the donation money I received before. My story if you don't know is a long one, I had my 1st surgery August 15, 2025 which was a spinal fusion t-5 to t-11 then a week later a big blood clot was discovered and I had to go back into surgery for my 2nd surgery to remove blood clot from original surgery site. I went to Northern Dutchess Rehab and started my rehab 3 hours a day for 6 days a week. I was there 3 days and I started having excruciating pain and they did a MRI and I broke t-11 so I went back in for back surgery and fusion again from t-5 to l-3. Then I went back to Northern Dutchess Rehab on 9/24/25 and worked my butt off and was walking assisted with walker and my PT with wheelchair behind me for rests. Then on 11/20/25 I went home to finish my recovery. It's difficult going from 3 hours a day, 6 days a week to 3xs a week for 45 minutes a day so I have regressed, losing what I worked so hard for. Now I am starting over so it's going to be a long road but I will get out of this wheelchair. Also since I can't get into a car just yet I need to take transportation to all my appointments and since I don't have Medicaid yet I have to pay out of pocket for that.
