Arts Sabbatical for Christopher Beaver

Christopher is the ultimate hyphenated mystery man of talents. His job title might read something like Homeopath- Therapist- Teacher- God Father- Guncle- Jeweler- Boss- Artist- Student- Friend-Visual Artist- Community Chef- Activist- Philanthropist- Comedian
Hell, he makes me feel lazy reading all that- and I’m busy!
Anyone that knows him, knows he takes each and every one of those titles seriously, and give 1,000% to those he loves- be them students, neighbors, patients or god children.
He wants everyone to feel supported, nurtured and to know he has our back.
So for this Holliday, I wanted to reflect some of the sentiment right back at him.
The one thing I have heard Christopher talk most about in this seemingly unrelenting year is wanting space to create.
The gift is a sentiment, really. A stance, letting him know his whole community supports him in taking space for himself to create. And just incase he needs a little extra nudge to give himself the permission as well.
I am starting an Artists Grant for him, that he can use any way he sees fit to give himself the space, clear his schedule, hire babysitters, buy materials, basically anything he deems fit and necessary to go inward and get all artsy.
It’s the sentiment that counts more than the money. It’s that he feels we have his back and care about his development and process as an artist as much as he cares about ours. And that we vow to try and handle our own shit first like we have been taught, before we go to him with a problem. Cause the bitch wants to get artsy!
So if it’s $1 or $20 from everyone, that’s good with me! And leave a note of appreciation here!
THIS IS A SURPRISE SO DON’T OPEN YOUR PIE HOLES ACCIDENTALLY AND LET IT SLIP!
Ok. This is going to be fun!
