Art Bouthillier, my dad, has been diagnosed with throat cancer. For those who may not know him, he was a cartoonist for the Whidbey Record for 18 years, and a fixture on the south end of Whidbey Island for 36 years. He has also worked at the Cultus Bay Nursery, Cotswald Collectibles, and sold the best chicken and duck eggs around! He has been a devoted father for 24 years, is absolutely selfless, and has always provided help for anyone who needed it. He is truly one of the best people you could ever meet.
He was diagnosed with throat cancer on December 19th, the day before his birthday. He is going in for throat surgery on January 14th. Between copays and deductibles, it has wiped out his small savings. As of right now, he is $18,000 in real debt due to the surgery, PET scans, CT scans, and an abundance of other tests. He still faces the cost of radiation and chemotherapy on his malignant throat tumor.
He does not like asking for help, but has been put into a position where he has to. Anything you can contribute towards his medical bills is greatly appreciated. If anyone would like to reach out to him, please contact him directly through Facebook, or reach out to me for his phone number. He still resides in Texas, and can’t wait to see y’all again. He may not be able to talk well, but any well wishes sent over text will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
