Jamal has been feeling anxious since the break of dawn. In a family of five, he is the sole bread-earner. Until, the pandemic forced him to quit being a rickshaw-puller. The attempt to maintain social-distancing has left his household with no source of income.
Jamal has been feeling anxious, as his youngest daughter asked whether they had anything to eat. There isn’t.
“Dad, I’m hungry, when can I eat?”

While the farmers in different villages of Bangladesh face the pandemic, their major crisis is not whether the COVID-19 virus would infest their bodies. Rather, they are losing their sleep realising their harvest may not yield enough profit due to middle-men taking advantage of this crisis. The farmers would soon plunge into a major financial crisis, leaving them with a household where sustaining life is much more difficult than passing away during the pandemic.

While the farmers worry, Towheed, a resident of the city, finds himself visiting super-shops to stock-up. He doesn’t mind paying more than what the goods truly deserve. It is pandemic, after all. He needs to save his family from feeling the ugly hunger pangs. Then again, Towheed tries to calculate for how long he can keep up.

Samina, a single mother, was managing just fine. She was earning enough through tutoring different students. Although she was taking up both the roles of a mother, and a father, her tuitions empowered her enough not to ask for financial support from her known ones.
Until, the pandemic struck. As all the schools were forced to shut down, Samina is left with no student to tutor. She questions with utter dismay, at the end of this month after using up all her resources, “How would I sustain my family?”
