Artivate: Public Art Now!

Donation protected
When the COVID-19 pandemic came to the Bay Area, Project Artivism was ready.

Help us raise $10,000 to kickstart our second semester of Artivate: Public Art Now!

We're ready to start the next semester as soon as February 2021, and with the possibility of matching gift funds in the pipeline, your donation will provide young artists with:

·      An opportunity to work with professional artists on public art projects throughout San Francisco.

·      Salaries for our lead artists and a modest scholarship for each student.

·      Materials and art supplies to being new visions to art projects in studios and on the streets.

·      An investment into the future of public art and youth education programs.

Project Artivism and its partner organizations will be curating a 4-month arts curriculum for talented high-school artists to accomplish these goals.

Every single donations counts!

We've already developed innovative programming to empower artists and businesses with what they needed to navigate a time of uncertainty and part of that programming is an arts mentorship program for high school students that brings the classroom to the streets.

This program will empower the next generation of artists in a time of critical need while also curating a public art program in the Bay Area.

Funds will be used to pay teachers, provide students with a scholarship stipend, and underwrite expenses for art materials.

After a successful first semester, the program will continue in 2021 to provide a new cohort of talented high school artists with socially-distant hands-on experiential arts education.

This program is inspired by all of the great artists and their work in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, Project Artivism has accomplished the following:

·       Over 50 public murals completed in San Francisco.

·       Empowered over 75 artists with paid opportunities to work in the Bay Area.

·       Supported businesses with inspired artwork to help them re-open safely.

·       Launched the first semester of Artivate: Public Art Now!

Project Artivism in partnership with  Collective Action Studio, the San Francisco Art Institute’s City Studio, Demirchelie, and Ueberformat successfully launched the first semester of a new youth-mentorship arts education program in the San Francisco, Bay Area.

In a time where artists have provided leadership, healing, and growth across the globe, empowering the next generation of artists is more critical than ever before.

In its first semester, Artivate: Public Art Now!, has connected professional artists with 25 high-school students from across the Bay Area to paint murals and to learn printmaking, wheatpaste, and other tools used in the world of public art.

The curriculum has placed an emphasis on themes of social justice, intersectionality, and community engagement. Project Artivism works with neighborhood associations and community development programs to ensure that Bay Area residents of all backgrounds are represented in the work and art.

In its first three months, this program has successfully bridged virtual lessons with the opportunity for students and young artists to benefit from hands-on experiential learning.

Your donations make a future for young artists possible.

We are facing an unprecedented crisis in the world of arts education, and innovative programs such as this one ensure that the future can be even brighter than before.

Please visit our website to learn more about our programming and what we hope to accomplish this year. Project Artivism is a 501(C)3 non-profit dedicated to promoting local and international artists while focusing on increasing access to the arts within marginalized populations in the Bay Area.
