We are raising funds for 29-year-old Artitaya Pattanasarn, a strong and kind-hearted girl who recently survived a life-altering accident in Thailand. We’re reaching out to ask for your help in giving her a second chance to heal, regain her independence and be able to work again.

While riding her scooter towards home, a car coming from the opposite direction cut across her path. She swerved to avoid a head-on collision with the car and crashed directly into an electric pole. She was rushed unconscious to the hospital, having suffered:
  • severe head trauma and fractured eye socket
  • brain haemorrhage (bleeding)
  • two broken arms
  • lost 4 front teeth
When she woke up from the coma, she had temporary memory loss and was confused and disoriented. Emergency brain scans confirmed internal bleeding. One of her arms required surgery and a metal plate, while the other was placed in a full cast. Three of her front teeth were lost entirely and one was broken and needed to be extracted and she currently wears a temporary dental piece that is fragile and just for basic appearance.

Despite the severity of the accident, the driver who caused it wasn't identified. The police confirmed the crash but couldn't trace the car so no one has been held accountable and Artitaya is now left alone and unsupported to carry the consequences for something that was never her fault.

Though she’s doing her best to stay hopeful and fight for her recovery, serious injuries and loss of physical ability have left her unable to support herself. This fundraiser aims to cover some of her emergency medical needs and recovery support and to help her stay afloat during this vulnerable period. Once she regains strength, she’s determined to become independent again.

Your donation will help cover:
  • Urgent needs: medicine and brain supplements, food, hygiene supplies, support bandages
  • Medical recovery and vital neurological follow-ups at the hospital
  • Physical therapy and rehabilitation to help regain movement in both arms
And with God's grace and your help, we may even be able to begin the long process of restoring her lost teeth through dental implants, a crucial step for her confidence, health and ability to eat and speak properly again.

Even a small donation can help make a big difference and it is deeply appreciated! And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this page or connecting us with someone who could offer work opportunities in the coming months would mean more than words can express.

Thank you for being part of her second chance!!!

More about Artitaya

Artitaya was born in rural Kalasin, Thailand and began working at just 17 years old. She moved to Bangkok and began working in factories, sewing clothes and making bags. Over the years she took jobs in packaging production, assembled parts for electronics and vehicles and later worked at Dok Bua Ku, where she packaged bottled bird’s nest drinks. Then she returned home for a while and opened a small food stall selling som tam (papaya salad), after which she moved to Phuket and started to work in hotel housekeeping.

Looking to improve her future, she enrolled in English classes to increase her chances of finding better work and it was during this period of hope and self-improvement that the accident occurred, changing everything in a single moment.

With your support Artitaya can heal, stand on her own feet again and look toward a brighter future. Please consider donating or sharing this page. Thank you for being here and giving hope!

Update 1
-----------
After being rushed unconscious to the hospital, Artitaya spent 3 nights in the emergency ward at Patong Hospital. She woke up from her coma on the first day of hospitalization confused, in severe pain having two broken arms, damaged eye socket and eye lid, four lost teeth, brain hemorrhage and with memory loss.

Since then, she has come a long way. She has put up with a lot of trauma both physically and emotionally, but she continues to fight with incredible strength and willpower.

In the first month after the accident, Artitaya was entirely dependent on her sister, who had rushed from their rural village in Kalasin to Phuket to be with her. Since both of her arms were injured, Artitaya couldn’t feed herself or even go to the bathroom without help. She has also struggled with often migraines and memory loss.

Over time she has regained some finger movement and despite the pain, she pushed through and began learning to eat, wash and care for herself again. Her sister had to return to Kalasin to look after the rest of the family, leaving Artitaya to continue the healing process alone.

With no financial help from her family, your support is what can make this healing journey possible. Thank you for being part of it!

Update 2
-----------

Hello friends,

I'm happy to share with you that there is progress, but the road ahead is still long.

Since returning home, Artitaya has started quiet and mindful activities to recover her hand dexterity and mental focus. With limited means and no access to proper physical therapy (yet), she has been doing what she can:
  • folding origami stars and little origami hearts, a daily practice to bring back finger coordination
  • solving Sudoku logical puzzles in order to stimulate her brain and concentration
  • colouring mandalas to soothe her mind and hands
These simple tasks have become an anchor in her recovery. Her brain hemorrhage seems to have stopped, but she still suffers from migraines, pain and occasional memory gaps.

The surgical scar left after the doctors inserted a metal plate to stabilize the fractured bone in her arm is slowly starting to heal.
What's next?

Our next goal is to get her into an affordable recovery clinic in Phuket where she can receive guided physical therapy. We’re still researching clinics and hoping to begin this step as soon as funds allow.

Your continued help means everything. Whether it’s a share, a kind message or a donation, it truly means the world. Thank you for helping Artitaya to keep going!
