my name is Jay Hanson and I paint fine art. In 2019 I started to have pain in my hand. Not only was my hand becoming painful, but it was becoming difficult to open my hand all the way, or to make a fist because my ring finger would not respond. I don’t have health insurance, and the pandemic made it impossible to get my hand looked at. Now the pandemic has been lifted, but I don’t have the money or health insurance to be able to afford the procedures to fix my hand. It’s become unbearable and impossible to work. I have dedicated to my life to perfecting my craft. I lost 30 years of artwork in a fire about six years ago, and I didn’t give up. It’s not easy for me to ask for help. But I truly don’t know what to do. I have bills to pay, but I am unable to meet my financial obligations. Not only is this scary, but it is very disheartening. It robs you of your self-esteem and your confidence but again, I do not know what to do. I live alone. I don’t know anybody in the city I live in I moved here just before the pandemic hit before I had a chance to meet people. I am afraid I am going to end up being evicted and be homeless on the streets, and I desperately need help from somebody who can afford to do so. I have used my talents in my own life to help others. I have used my art to raise money for Saint Judes I have donated paintings to kids who have become quadriplegic to help raise money for their medical bills. And now I find myself on the other side. I have worked too hard to be sidelined at the age of 52 and unable to pay my bills and pursue my own goals with my talent.

i’ve been told the surgery would cost approximately $10,000 and then would require a 90 day period of your mobility at which point I can start physical rehab. The first $10,000 would be used to cover the medical costs of the surgery. Remaining $5000 would be used to pay for my rent for the three months I would be unable to work for the medication’s and a brace that I need to keep the hand immobile after the surgery

This wouldn’t be some temporary thing because I have the ability to give back to others if I can get myself stabilized and working again. .
