dear friends, family, and community,

i’m writing this on behalf of amir and asya, nyc-based artists who’ve graciously rented their gallery and studio space, 334 broome, to lobster club for our nyc programming over the years.

on saturday night, the gallery and studios sustained severe damage from a fire that started in the building’s basement. in an effort to contain it from spreading to the apartments above, fire crews had to tear through the space, destroying much of the gallery and studios in the process.

we're grateful everyone is safe, but we’re heartbroken for amir and asya, who lost their beloved space and creative home. asya was in the middle of preparing for a solo show, and together they’ve lost upwards of $20k in artwork and supplies.

in addition to the loss of work and tools, amir and asya are now without a studio and facing an uncertain timeline ahead.

we’re sharing this in hopes of helping them replace materials, secure a new workspace, and ease some of the financial pressure as they navigate what comes next. all donations will go directly to amir and asya. any support, whether through donating or sharing, is deeply appreciated.

love,

maja & lobster club
