As a response to COVID-19, India has come under a strict lockdown since March 23. This has slowed down coronavirus cases, but it has also devastated our 800 strong artisan community. While we are all affected by this pandemic, marginalized communities we work with are especially vulnerable during this time of crisis.
With our workshops shut and ongoing orders at a standstill, our artisans fear hunger before coronavirus can get to them. They are looking at a horrifying future as their life has become a struggle for sustenance. Their only source of income has been threatened and their lives completely uprooted.
We seek your support during this difficult time. We have already distributed thousands of hot meals and face masks but we need your support to keep going. Please help us help our artisan communities. We are committed to supporting them through this challenging time. With your help, we will make sure their basic needs are met, but we can't do it without you!
Your support and donations will be vital for the survival of hundreds in vulnerable communities. Please donate and share this campaign today! Your contribution will go very far in India. For less than $20, you can feed a family of 4 for one month with a food ration kit. For just $3.50, you can provide supplies to fight coronavirus with a health kit and help make up for lost wages for our artisans.
This fund will be used for 800 artisans families to provide the following:
