Benjamin Meier, a New Hampshire cheese maker, operates Abbot Hill Creamery in Wilton, NH. Ben sells his products at local farmers' markets and has raving fans at his booth each week. His cheese is amazing.
Benjamin bicycles from his home to his “cheese cave” every day. On August 5th, 2022, he had a serious accident and was injured while leaving home. The trek to and from work is wooded and includes a lengthy, steep hill, culminating in a sharp turn. Due to a recent storm event, the turn at the bottom of the hill experienced a washout and was coated with loose sand and gravel. Unable to slow sufficiently, he lost control and crashed. Ben laid in this wooded area found by a passerby. He was unconscious for 6 hours. Ben was treated and released from the hospital with a very serious concussion and undiagnosed hip injuries. His cognitive function is currently impaired, and he is unable to move independently. These injuries prevent him from working, and like so many other self-employed people, he has no medical insurance.
Please show your appreciation for Benjamin. He has worked hard to build a great business, and with your help, he can heal and return to his “cheese cave.” Please donate what you can. Your support will help pay his medical bills incurred and future, along with his personal survival through this trying time.
