My wife, our children, and I have deep roots in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, where we’ve lived for years and run a Montessori school. Over the past three decades, we’ve watched local kids fall in love with soccer, playing on a natural grass field with a dedicated coach. Unfortunately, the heavy use and rainy seasons quickly wear down the grass, leaving the field muddy, uneven, and often unusable. This makes it difficult for the children to play safely and consistently, and limits their opportunities to develop their skills and confidence.

That’s why we’re raising funds to build an artificial turf futsal field for the neighborhood. An artificial field will provide a safe, reliable playing space all year round—no more mud, no more uneven ground, and a consistent surface that helps kids improve their skills. The turf drains quickly and requires less maintenance, allowing for daily training and keeping the field open even during Cabarete’s rainy seasons. Sports are a powerful tool to help kids stay away from crime and risky behavior, build discipline and teamwork, and gain confidence and leadership skills.

But this project is about more than just soccer. By renting the field to local leagues, organizing tournaments, and offering structured programs, we can generate income to buy equipment, pay coaches, and support educational initiatives. Our goal is to create a self-sustaining social business where all profits are reinvested into programs for kids. With transparency and community support, this project can become financially independent and serve as a model for sustainable development. Futbol has become very popular in the Dominican Republic, but most private fields and academies are out of reach for underprivileged kids. We’re asking for your support to help us continue the work our family has done for 30 years—giving every child a chance to play, grow, and thrive through soccer.
