Artie Humphreys' Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Artie Humphreys, and I am currently working on my Eagle Scout project as a part of the Boy Scouts of America. One of the final requirements to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout is to plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, any school, or your community. Due to the risks posed by COVID-19, I am unable to do a conventional fundraiser such as a car wash or a bake sale. Luckily, the Boy Scouts of America has permitted the use of websites such as GoFundMe as a manner of raising money towards an Eagle Scout project.
My project consists of building and installing four informational signs and one informational kiosk at different points along the bank of the Moormans River, a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The signs will display varying information ranging from the issues that the stream faces such as littering, to the unique needs of the ecosystem that lives there. The signs will be posted at a height that is accessible to kids and adults alike. The informational kiosk will display information regarding the importance of watersheds as a water source for the local community.
The signs and kiosk will mostly be targeted towards young children and will be decorated with engaging images to further highlight the importance of the river, and it’s ecosystem as a whole.
My fundraising goal for the project is $2,000 to cover all material, transportation, and labor costs. Any unused funds or additional money raised will be donated directly to the non-profit, Trout Unlimited. Please consider donating, or if you cannot personally donate, please spread the word so I can reach my fundraising goal!
Again, thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page!
Thank you,
Artie Humphreys
