Early Sunday morning, Kamil’s apprentice, Artie Gonzalez, tragically passed away in a car accident. Kamil had been mentoring Artie since he was just 16, after first meeting him through a youth program he was running in Holyoke. From the very beginning, it was clear how special Artie was. He was incredibly smart, full of curiosity, and had a gift for applying his mind and heart to anything he did.

Artie’s presence brought light, laughter, and so much promise to everyone who knew him. He was truly a soul this world deeply needed.

His family, who does not have many financial resources, is now facing the unimaginable pain of loss along with the heavy burden of funeral expenses. All funds raised will go directly to his mother to help with burial costs and to give Artie the farewell he deserves.
