On the 24th March this year, my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Despite undergoing major surgery and starting chemotherapy, she sadly passed away peacefully on the 17th August. Losing her has been the hardest experience of my life. She was the kindest, most selfless and loving person, and I feel so lucky to have had her as my mum.
In her memory, I have decided to run the 2025 Lisbon Marathon on the 25th October, to raise money for Bowel Cancer UK, the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. They fund critical research into prevention and treatment, provide expert support for patients and families, and campaign for earlier diagnosis and better care across the UK.
Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the country, yet it is treatable and curable, especially if caught early. Supporting Bowel Cancer UK is my way of honouring my mum's life and helping to make a difference for others facing this disease.
Any donation, no matter the size, will go towards funding their vital work and will mean so much to me and my family. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.
